2021 Lincoln Aviator
Lincoln Aviator: Luxury and Style
The name Aviator recalls the history at Lincoln. It had been missing for more than a decade. Still, it was reintroduced last year to present an exceptional vehicle, adding space and ride comfort to a reinvented silhouette.
In design terms alone, the large vehicle is the ultimate expression of the new Lincoln signature. Its grille, characteristic of the new Lincoln vision, is framed by refined headlamps that stretch into the vehicle’s side edges.
The rear section and large tailgate echo the lines that run throughout the car. It also features a string of LED lights inspired by the Navigator. The side windows extend to the rear of the D- pillar, revealing a spacious interior and an extended wheelbase.
A true sanctuary
Like the new Lincolns, the interior of the Lincoln Aviator is a model of refinement and sophistication. In addition to the high-end materials that make up the charm of this welcoming cockpit, the Lincoln Aviator’s cabin is designed to comfortably accommodate its occupants.
The front seats offer exceptional support and a wide range of adjustment possibilities while adding ventilation and heating to the comfort features. The rear seats, including the third row, are surprisingly spacious and allow passengers to enjoy a carefree ride.
But it’s the design and the refinement infused into this cabin that gives it its personality. The center console offers a sleek design, giving way to large, easily accessible cargo spaces.
At the heart of the dashboard, rather than the traditional transmission lever, are the push buttons that control the automatic transmission. All this is topped off with comfort and entertainment controls, including a large touch-sensitive display screen. It also houses a Revel Ultima 3d audio system that transforms the cabin into a veritable concert hall.
The Lincoln Aviator also features superior soundproofing to enjoy this music, letting in only a few road noises to keep you in touch with the road.
Under the Hood
Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Aviator develops 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. A hybrid version, called Grand Touring, is also available but deserves a separate presentation. A total of five driving modes are on the menu: Normal, Preserve, Excite, Slippery and Deep — and can be selected via the rotary knob on the center console.
The Lincoln Aviator relies on more than just its mechanics to ensure the comfort of its occupants. It also requires a long list of technologies, including unique adaptive suspension systems. By pointing a camera at the road, they can predict the road’s hazards and adapt their response accordingly. All of this, of course, coupled with an exceptional all-wheel-drive system.
The Aviator is back, and it’s forging its own idea of luxury. It offers a quiet and sumptuous environment and a ride that makes you feel like you’re on a cloud, without neglecting its practical side. Charm and versatility combined.
